#TIA2030 in Media

Today. we would like to share with you an article discussing the potential establishment of a fifth public university in Novo mesto, Slovenia. Prof. dr. Matej Makarovič, the dean of the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto (FIŠ), a member of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (JM CoE) #TIA2030 project team and also a member of its Advisory Board, leads the working group responsible for preparing the accreditation application for this new university. In the interview in the article, he emphasises the moral commitment of the involved institutions and highlights the comprehensive effort to unite public and private educational entities under a single public university framework.


The establishment of a new university in Novo mesto aligns with the objectives of the JM CoE #TIA2030, which focuses on technology and innovation within the Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The new university could drive technological innovation and economic growth in Slovenia, supporting broader SDG objectives of sustainable industry, innovation, and infrastructure development. It could become an innovative educational hub for Slovenia by enhancing educational quality and fostering innovative solutions to societal challenges, thus supporting JM CoE's mission to drive forward-thinking educational and research agendas.
